The 21st edition of the International Workshop of Physical Agents (WAF2020) will be held on 19 and 20 November at the University of Alcalá. This is an international forum focusing on research into artificial intelligence (AI) techniques in control applications and interaction with physical agents (mobile robots, vehicles, manipulators, etc.). It is an event sponsored by RoboCity2030.

The conference presents a wide range of research challenges in the fields of software agents, multi-agent systems, human-robot interaction, mobile robots, social robots, cooperating robots, autonomous vehicles, machine and deep learning, perception, location, mapping

Press release: 

Unmanned Traffic Management 4D Path Planning Technologies for Drone Swarm to Enhance Safety and Security in Transport, LABYRINTH, was approved by the European Commission. The project is coordinated by the Robotics Lab and belongs to the Horizon 2020 Programme. The Kick-off-Meeting of the project was on July 2020.

LABYRINTH will contribute to a safer, more efficient and sustainable civil road, rail, air and waterborne transport with new centralized planification systems capable of communicating with all the drones in a certain area, processing their desired origin and destination points and compute paths to avoid

The Joint Strategic Research Innovation and Deployment Agenda (SRIDA) for the AI, Data and Robotics Partnership was launched on 22 September. This is an agenda supported by the European Commission and has been driven by euRobotics and European initiatives focused on AI (Claire, Ellis, EurAI) and Big Data (BDVA). This document is part of a joint initiative between these entities to promote innovation, productivity and European economic growth in the coming years.

The 21st International Workshop of Physical Agents (WAF) is a forum for information and experiences exchange in different areas regarding the concept of agent on physical environments, especially applied to the control and coordination of autonomous systems: robots, mobile robots, industrial processes or complex systems.

It will be held at the Rectorado of the Universidad de Alcalá in Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, Spain on November 19th-20th, 2020. Members of the organizing committee are Luis Miguel Bergasa, Manuel Ocaña, Rafael Barea, Elena López y Pedro Revenga.

The deadline

Pedro Revenga (RoboSafe-UAH) was interviewed in Las Mañanas de Radio Nacional.

The prize is awarded by internationally renowned experts for the group’s ongoing research in the field of perception systems applied to robotics, road infrastructure and intelligent vehicles. The UAH is the first Spanish institution to receive this award.
